COVID-19 Comz

DATE: 03/17/20

Men of F3 Nation,

Our country and countries across the world are being greatly affected by COVID-19. Here is the “official” statement from F3 Nation on what is happening right now.

We are a #Starfish. Our mission is explicitly to invigorate male community leadership. Our hope is that we, to some degree or other, have done this. Therefore, we urge you to look locally to your Nant’ans for guidance on what you may want to do on the ground where you are. From Charlotte, we can’t know what the best practice is for Omaha, nor would we pretend to. Omaha will know what to do for Omaha, the same is to be said for regions across the Nation.

Be smart. We’ve all likely seen by now the many practices that are recommended by the CDC and other experts. In fact, very many of the great Leaders and Nant’ans of F3 have already put out guidelines for how they suggest things be handled locally in their regions. For example, in Puget Sound, where the virus made US landfall, they have been adjusting their COTs to not include a BOM, encouraging men to stay home if they feel sick, no partner work, etc. Again, look local for what you all might do to avoid spread of both the virus and any panic that may surround it.

LEAD. It is times like these that we now get to put into practice all this stuff we’ve talked about over the years. We have attempted to get ready for the expected, while staying ready for the unexpected… this is truly unexpected, unprecedented even… Lean in, do good, find a way to be useful and of service to your family and your community (even if that truly is staying home because you aren’t sure if you’ve been infected) and then articulate your vision of how you intend to help people… persuade them to join in the help, and exhort them as necessary.

Men, THIS is the kind of thing that we were made for. THIS is the kind of thing that you’ve been getting ready for by posting and living third. Go make cool stuff happen… we will get through this just fine.

We love you, and if the Nation can help in terms of resources, communication or otherwise, on a level past your local region, let us know. We will.
ISI,

Dark Helmet (The Darkest of All)

PRE-BLAST Memorial day Mini CSAUP

WHAT: A “mini” Completely Stupid And Utterly Pointless workout. I.e. it’s not going to be anywhere near as long as most other CSAUP’s (hence “mini”), but it will, nonetheless, be a 2-hour beatdown to be remembered.

WHEN: Memorial Day — Monday, May 26 at 0500-0700 hrs.

WHERE: The Fishing Pier at Cape Henlopen State Park. We will launch from there and cover plenty of the park. ENDEX (ending exercise) will bring us to conclusion in the McBride parking lot near the Concessions/Bath-house)

This event is simply a great way to start our Memorial Day and honor all our fallen warriors. Our momentary light afflictions pale in comparison to the sacrifices they made throughout their military careers and the ultimate sacrifice each of them and their families have made.

Memorial Day CSAUP AO

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • ALL PAX should bring a brief bio of a fallen service member. Perhaps someone you know or are familiar with. Or simply find one online. Print out or write it on a 5×7 card and place it in a Ziploc bag to keep it on your person. Bio’s will be read through the CSAUP on Monday. PAX without a BIO will be penalized a “21 Gun Salute”
  • Hydrate (drink plenty of fluids night before (a brief hydration break will be provided mid-workout)
  • Coffeeteria will be provided at the ENDEX finish line in the McBride parking lot (for those able to stick around for a little)
  • What to wear? Wear what you’d like, but keep in mind we WILL GET WET, we WILL GET SANDY, we WILL GET DIRTY (Hollow Point Tip for killin’ it: you might not want to wear your brand new running shoes if you still get upset when someone steps on the toes)
  • Bring a change of clothes or a towel to sit on so you can drive home without ruining your ride.
  • There are bathhouses at both the Fishing Pier parking area and the McBride parking areas
  • THIS IS A PEER-LED BATON PASS EVENT, but it will be 2-hours long. So, be thinking about what you’d like to add to the workout but lets not kill everyone right out of the gate–but then again it is supposed to be a CSAUP. Summit is going to launch us, and Chappie will lead the ENDEX. And each PAX will be given approx. 10 mins. in between. There will be plenty of workout features along the way! Woot, woot!
  • SITE-Q’s BRING ALL YOUR SHOVEL FLAGS

MOST IMPORTANT NOTE: Let’s embrace the suck and just have some fun!!!!!

*******Anyone’s M want to chase us around (in a car, of course) and snap a few pics for posterity?

Pre-Blast…Labor-day Beach Day Beatdown

Our 2nd Annual Labor Day Beach Day Beatdown

Date: Monday, Sept. 3

Location: North end of the boardwalk. Park in the public parking at the corner of Lake Ave. & Surfside Place (no fees that early in the Gloom).

Time: 7 a.m. sharp

What is it? A workout on a different day and at a different location. This year it will be more of a “convergence” (i.e. all Site-Q’s bring your AO Shovel-flag. We’ll plant ’em all in the sand). Commit now, men, maybe Labor Day will be the day we get to record numbers!

Each HIM come prepared with a few of your favorite exercises because we’ll be “passing the baton” from PAX to PAX. Don’t forget we’ll have some different elements that “add value” to the beatdown: Sand & Water. To some degree, you can think CSAUP. Plan on going home nasty!! Ohhhh, yeahhh!

(Being so close to the coast I’m not sure we use the beach enough–let’s not take it for granted!)

Guys, this is a great time to invite some FNG’s too, so hit up those guys you’ve been working on. This promises to be a great way to start your Labor Day. Last year we jumped into some waves after the COT/BOM and got a good cool down compliments of the Atlantic. Plan some time afterwards to hang out with your M and 2.0’s on the beach, or just plan to grab some Coffeeteria with some of the other PAX for some of that 2ndFYOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS!

Shot from last year:

~Chappie, out!
